If you're looking to have an intimate wedding or micro wedding in Utah you will find a wide variety of stunning outdoor wedding venues that showcase the state's natural beauty. Not everyone wants to elope and some people want to include larger groups, have a formal reception and facilities and that's where the wedding venues are a great alternatives. In this blog I will focus on wedding venues in Utah that have the outdoor option and ceremony set up and are suitable for smaller weddings as I personally don't do big weddings.

Alta's Rustler Lodge


Alta offers a few wedding venues suitable for larger weddings and one of them is this wedding venue located in Sandy, UT. This stunning property is a picturesque hideaway located by the Wasatch Mountains. This location offers great and luxury facilities surrounded by mountain views where you and your loved ones can look forward to an unforgettable celebration at this event venue. Alta's Rustler Lodge offers option to host your wedding ceremony, reception, and rehearsal dinner onsite. If you choose to have the ceremony outside this location offers vast lawns with waterfalls and a wooden altar with amazing views, it also has a rustic fire pit is ideal for events that run late into the night.

The Wasatch mountains are magical and so close to the Salt Lake City. Any venues located within Little or Big Cottonwood Canyon are a great option. Solitude’s unreal setting is the perfect backdrop for a memorable wedding. Celebrate your special day with family and friends at one of Utah’s most stunning mountain resorts.

Pros:

  • Indoor and outdoor spaces can accommodate everyone, from your nature-loving family members with an option to hide inside in case it rains.
  • In the summer mountain wildflowers make for the perfect portrait location.
  • On site catering for convenience who can create menu options tailored just for you.
  • Proximity to Slat Lake City if that's where your guests will be based out of.
  • Multiple ceremony options to choose from.

This wedding venue accommodates anything from 20 to 200 people, which is a great option for smaller more intimate wedding as well.

Louland Falls Wedding Venue


Located in beautiful Parley's Canyon, this beautiful outdoor wedding venue offers breathtaking views of the Wasatch Mountain range mixed with the southern Utah influence of red rocks.

Pros:


  • Very intimate and charming.
  • The scenery varies from beautiful rock formations with waterfalls to lush mountains in a distance.
  • Carering. coordinator (very lovely Amy will help you with everything) on site
  • Option for outdoor and indoor sitting.
  • Proximity to Slat Lake City and Park City
  • Beautiful landscaping with many cherry blossoms in the late spring.

Cons:

  • usually books way in advance
  • in an early summer affected by summer storms due to its locations higher up.
  • Open seasonally May till Oct
  • tighter make up and getting ready area

Overall this is a great option for smaller weddings and I personally love shooting up there. The views from this wedding venue are beautiful and the location is very private.

Promontory Club Park City- Pioneer's Cabin


The Outfitter’s Cabin which is part of the Promontory Club is a cute space full of rustic charm – with wood burning fireplaces inside and outside, charming decor, and a relaxed-yet-updated ambience. It also boasts a 700 square foot deck that is utilized year-round and offering beautiful mountain views especially in the fall. The property offers private lake and boathouse which are a great photo opportunity.

Pros:

  • Perfect for intimate weddings

Cons:

  • darker inside so your photographer must be using a flash
  • can be affected by the weather due to its high altitude mountain location
  • a little isolated location

Outdoor Wedding Venues Near Moab and Zion


Southern Utah is by far my favorite area for elopements and intimate wedding. Although it's pretty easy to have a micro wedding with under 30-40 guests in a National Park (with necessary permits of course) or on a national forest if you're wanting more relaxed atmosphere with guests hanging out after the ceremony for reception, dance and speeches some of these wedding venues in Utah might be the option for you.

Many couples choose to start off their day with romantic portraits and adventure in Utah's incredible desert landscape first, and then meeting their families at a venue for the ceremony and celebration.


The Red Earth Venue


Located close to Moab this desert wedding venue provides an excellent option for adventurous elopement couples who are also looking for convince of a venue located in a stunning desert setting. The Red Earth Venue is surrounded by red rock cliffs, native desert vegetation, amazing views and great recreation possibilities in Moab, Utah.

Their property is located on 17 acres in a setting that will remind you of a National Park and is located between Arches and Canyonlands national parks. . The Red Earth Venue is a 10 minute drive from Moab.

The Glass Venue site is located approximately 10 minutes from Moab, Utah off scenic byway 313.

Pros:

  • Big reception space:nThe Glass Venue is an 1,800 square ft indoor space with a 2,300 sq ft brick patio adjacent.
  • a catering prep area where you can hire your own catering team or go with vendor refferals,
  • and a 50 car parking area for larger groups
  • option to rent an additional space
  • proximity to Arches National Park and endless Moab BLM lands

The Desert Platform Site is 1/4m from the Glass Venue accessible via dirt road. You can either walk there or park at the Glass Venue parking area or access it with a 4x4 vehicle. The platform is 19ft x 19ft with approximately 5,000 square feet of packed dirt area for event set up. Most couples book this site in addition to the Glass Venue for their ceremony and to ensure their event is private.

Cons:

  • although the property offers chairs and table rentals these are separate: wood farm tables, chairs, custom built cocktail tables, welcome table, cake table, flameless candle lighting and more.

East Zion Resort


East Zion Resort, is the perfect venue very close to Zion National Park. It is established on a private location for your special day to be very private event. The resort provides accommodation at an extra cost varying from cabins to glamping. East Zion Resort provides many amenities to ensure your celebration is unforgettable.

  • On-site accommodations: The main lodge comfortably sleeps 36 people and provides great option for those who don't want to drive to Springdale or St George after the wedding.

  • Beautiful red rock setting is stunning and makes for unforgettable photographs.

  • Full weekend reservation: you must reserve the venue for the entire weekends

Amangiri


For those looking for a truly unique and luxurious venue, Amangiri in southern Utah is a top choice. This venue is located near Canyon Point, Utah.
